Exploring questions · investigating possibilities

Ideas are beginnings.
Evidence shows the way.

MII’s initiatives explore questions at the intersection of environmental understanding, community resilience, and responsible innovation.

A careful process

Stages matter.
Possibility is not proof.

We distinguish between an initial idea, a research proposal, a developed design, a tested prototype, and a validated solution. These stages are not interchangeable. A promising question does not establish that an approach is feasible, safe, or effective.

Before fieldwork or prototyping, ideas need qualified expertise, appropriate permissions, clear methods, risk assessment, and suitable safeguards. Testing and independent evaluation are essential before any performance or outcome claims are made.
